Diakhaby: "I feel like a footballer again. I can't wait to play at Mestalla with the fans"
The Valencia CF defender speaks to VCF Radio about his return to competition and the recovery process from his serious injury.
Pablo Ballester is a Valencian and Valencianista, who emigrated to Sweden to practice medicine. There, he has been involved in a much tougher battle than expected, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He works in primary care, the first line of defense against the virus, but supporting Valencia CF helps him disconnect from the daily fight.
“I always listen to the games on the radio with (commentators) Josep Rovira, Miguel Bossio and Ricardo Arias. It makes me feel like I'm in Valencia again. It helps me to disconnect from all the chaos that the pandemic has produced,” Dr. Ballester tells VCF MEDIA.
However, in Sweden he is not alone in his support for Valencia CF. He has found the ideal ambassador to accompany him: His inseparable Great Dane, Moritz. Pablo is used to walking him dressed in Valencia CF garments, which makes his loveable dog stand out on the streets.
“We go out for walks and I put the Valencia CF scarf on him. People stop us to ask me about Valencia CF,” he explains.
We hope that we can have you back at Mestalla soon. AMUNT Pablo and AMUNT Moritz!
